Hello everyone, Looking for my old 25mm minifigs for flags for the Bavarian, Saxon and Württemberg infantry and cavalry in 1870-1871. No ideas ? |

Have you tried the warflag site? They're under the European 19th Century Wars section. |

It's a start, but LOL because those of the 2nd French Division – 3rd French Division – 4th French Division and the 1st Corps Cavalry Division of the Army of the Rhine -1st Corps (Marshal MacMahon) are from the second republic, who is the regime in France from February 24, 1848, date of the provisional proclamation of the Republic in Paris, until the proclamation of Napoleon III as emperor on December 2, 1851. What about the Hessians, Württemburgers, Baden and Saxons, do they only have one type of flag? |

Paskal, I've noticed you are a stickler for authenticity, and I commend you for that. I've sort of settled on the "anything that looks close from 3 feet away will do" I've used the site's flags for most of my 1866-1871 units. Very few of them are historical, some even from the Napoleonic era if need be. I think several flag manufacturers will make custom flags, but I have never gone that route. Good luck on your quest! |

@bargainbindm Several flag manufacturers sell flags for the wars in Europe from 1864 to 1871? Which ? |

"I think there are manufacturer's who on occasion will create custom flags. I've never used any of them, but I have noticed there are offers to create custom flags.I only ever just print the flags offered on the warflags site, and anything even close, be it 7YW up to those offered for the era work for me. |

@bargainbindm At least it's not expensive and the ones for the second French republic look great, but I'll check. |

@bargainbindm For the flags that I told you were from the second French republic, it was an error, these are those of the dictatorship of Prince-President Louis Napoleon from 1852 to 1854 (115cm by 95mm), these are those which precede the flags model 1854 (90cm by 90mm) used from 1856 to 1862. after for the rest of the second empire appears the model 1860 (115cm by 95mm) first for the imperial guard then for the troops of the line. On the other hand it seems that the details are not exact because in the top corners of the blue part, we should find the regiment number in a laurel wreath and in the bottom corners we should find written RF (République Française) in a laurel wreath and it is the opposite in the red parts, in the top corners of this color we should find again RF (République Française) in a laurel wreath and at the bottom, the regiment number in a laurel wreath. On the front should be written for example what is written for that of the 50 th infantry regiment illustrated on the site: LOUIS NAPOLEON AU 50 eme REGIMENT D'INFANTERIE and on the back RF (République Française) with names of battles one above the other and not LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE. |
