None of the major histories of the War of 1809 mention any fighting in Klosterneuburg immediately before the decisive battle of Wagram. Interesting article which was prompted by a chance discovery by one of the authors during archival research in the Augustinian Abbey of Klosterneuburg directly north of Vienna. Inside carton box K 219, amidst a rather eclectic collection of miscellaneous documents dating from the late Middle Ages to the early 19th century, an interesting source came to light. This was a small square envelope containing two round bullets. On the outside there was an elegant note link
